Try playing Bayonetta on Hard without using an item to get through it, it's
almost impossible to get even a silver award for completing a mission
without using an item or dying. Hell, even on normal this is difficult. Now,
using the items in the game before losing it, yes, you can just breeze
through the game, but it taunts you after finishing the mission.

I haven't tried Bayonetta in the Impossible mode, no. I meant on normal
difficulty.

Try even playing on normal and see if you can even get a platinum award. I
have only one in all of them, but I have numerous stone statues. It takes
down your score massively if you use an item or you die. I have nearly all
pure platinums on very easy and beat it in less than 3 hours. On easy, I
have a ton of platinums and golds. Easy to Normal on bayonetta is like going
from casual on Gears of War to hardcore

Even with items NG2 is difficult even on Way of the Warrior.
Bayonetta just showers you with items and regents for concoctions.
Bayonetta isn't easy without items, but powerful combos and the
Witchtime dodges are too easy to pull off especially how they
convienently slow time down just before you're about to get hit. It
also doesn't hurt that she can jump like 20 feet in the air while
raining down bullets.

LOL I was being sarcastic Avatar practically gives away 1000 GS for
just closing your eyes and pressing one button.

If you look at any 'easy achievements' list Avatar tops the list

I heard if you get stone statue awards in Bayonetta your basically a
whimp

Yes it does give a statue and it sounds like it says (after a snide laugh),
"what a dick!"

Your first playthrough you're pretty much guranteed to get mostly
Stone Statues because of all the damn QTE (quick time events, ie. mash
"B" now! or you die!). Combat in the game is pretty much your
standard action game stuff except you can do finishing (torture) moves
once certain gauges fill up from pulling off combos and her dodge
moves her about 20 feet and if you time it right activates "Witchtime"
where you move faster than your enemies for like 5 seconds. But
you'll be running then bridge or whatever you're on will start
crumbling, so you run and jump to the next section, that will crumble,
and you run the next section, then the camera angle will change. You
can't even see Bayonetta and you may think its just a cut scene then
you have like 1 second to mash "A" to jump. You can't even see where
you're headed or where you're jumping to. It takes a while to get use
to it, because it can happen at anytime, anywhere and you really have
to pay attention even during the lame cut scenes. So you end up dying
and losing time and contributing to your Stone Award.

The combat is fun, but there's just not enough of it. Too many breaks
in the action, running, jumping, lame cut scenes, and QTE. Most of
the boss battles consists of you knocking their health down to a point
and then grabbing them and mashing "B" repeatedly. Rinse. Repeat.
I'm fine with doing it once as a finishing move, but the same sequence
two or three times? Honestly, I'm having more fun playing
Darksiders. Better story, better voice acting, better puzzles, better
character design (IMHO) and alot less QTE, if only the combat was more
interesting.

Yes, that's true, but playing on normal even, you won't get bonus points if
you die or use even just a few items, of which some happen automatically.
You can avoid enemies and hit back, but it is time consuming and no matter
how well timed you are, your hands get tired and you ultimately fail. If you
start off new on normal, forget it, you won't have the weapon power and
enough (purchased) techniques to make these moves and it does take time to
build up halos to buy them. Some of the better weapons and items cost
between 3-5 million halos. To give you a best case scenario (unless you
cheat), you can possibly earn 100K in halos in a mission if you finish on
normal with at least a gold award and that is f'n hard to do.

Hands down, this is the best action game I've played in years. It could be a
possible GOTY for its genre (depending on GOWIII pans out). There is so much
to earn and unlock in the game and it is downright fun doing it. Multiple
play runs don't get boring still.

You can skip the cutscenes and they are not really anything to watch, unless
you want to get a bit of the story. I don't see where you say there isn't
enough combat, it just about every minute or so. It also isn't as simple as
you say when button mashing, there are pretty many complex moves in the
games that require many different sequences of pushing different but for
nearly 30+ different moves that are needed for certain enemies. Certain
weapons work best on certain enemies, or you are owned.

It's really about taste since it comes across like DMC or NG, but I think
the combat in this game is much better, more fun and with much more action.

Earth Defense Force 2017 on Inferno is pretty tough. Specifically
level 43 (Spearhead).

I got a gold medal thingie in the demo is that good? It looked like a
gold statue and I got something called platinum its very confusing
with all the stuff going on in Bayonetta I don't know what I won
really .
Her tornado attack looks awesome, I guess that finisher is canned in
the demo but it was seriously fun.

I will say though I am getting both Dante and Bayo after playing the
demos, good times.

The button mashing i'm referring to is during the punish and torture
attacks where you have to repeatedly mash "B" to increase your
Megatonage or whatever. Its fun a couple of times but gets old fast.
The last game I had to repeatedly mash the same button as fast as I
could this much was WWE Smackdown on PS2 and I hated it then. GOW
does it too, but not as much as Bayonetta.

I'm only up to the seventh sequence or whatever and haven't run into
anything like the Challenge portals on NG2 where you're locked in a
large area with continuously spawning enemies. I always looked
forward to those in NG2. The combat in Bayonetta is too segmented.
Most of the time you know when you're about to be attacked because the
angels get introduced with a cut scene. Then you defeat a small
group, she blows a kiss, and you get rated. Its just personal
preference, but I don't like the break in the action and so many cut
scenes. There needs to be an auto-skip option. Hopefully they'll
release a Survival mode DLC. The multitude of and fluidity of moves
is something I would do for like 30 minutes continuously sans the
running through flowers, skipping cut scenes, and QTE.

Any game where you choose not to use in game buffs is going to be
hard. I'm glad that Bayonetta rewards you for not dying and not using
items. But i'm sure there's a long list of games that would be
impossible without using in game powerups.

The tornado attack you mention is called a "wicked weave", which is her hair
in action. Her clothing is actually all of her hair wrapped around her body
and it is used in those weaves and climax scenes (she nearly gets naked
doing it). Platinum awards are nearly hitting a perfect mission. Getting a
'pure platinum' means you didn't take one hit at all while beating the
mission.

You have a point about the scenes, but if you're familiar with the game,
skipping them isn't an issue. Also, every battle does not have a cut scene
preceding it, once you have a new enemy that makes the cut scene, it doesn't
happen again when you run into them later. But, some of those cut scenes
tell the tale and it was interesting for the most part, but the story is
pretty loose and sometimes silly. Again, it comes down to taste, it may not
appeal to you, but I find this one of the best action games I have played in
a long time.

How well you finish the stage (less damage taken) and more combos
results in more gold (halos) and a better award. A sequence (or is it
serenade?) is composed of about 7 stages and depending on how well you
do on all of them determines what overall statue you receive. Plus
you get bonuses for not dying and not using items. Bayonetta actual
keeps track of how many times you die, and factors that into your
score which I don't think I've ever seen an action game. Its a nice
addition for the perfectionists out there.

I'm looking forward to Dante's Inferno as well. It may just be a GOW
clone, but I really like the hellish environments, freakish monsters
and the two paths for powerups (good and evil). I love how at the end
of the demo you get to control that monster and smash stuff and breath
fire. Hopefully the full version has more of that kind of stuff.

Earth Defense Force 2013 on the hardest dificulty, single player.

Despite this being a port from a PS2 game, the 360 just can't keep up with
the insane amount of enemies and projectiles on the screen.

Even on easy, the g-g-g-g-game st-st-st-st-stutters like crazy on the
later stages. The harder levels just throw in more - and tougher - bugs
at you, each of which literally covers the whole screen in acid-spit.

I have, but not for an entire level, no. Just medals.

OK, what I and OXM meant was the hardest game on its normal setting.

hmmm I have the 'inferno' achievement I don't remember the 360
stuttering that much , with the amount of enemies on screen its quite
impressive actually. I just don't ever remember thinking about it
having problems. Though its been along time since I've played it I
actually got that game the day it was released in the US , definitley
a great arcadey shooter very fun and the japanese translation is
cornball fun

I HATE THE FUCKIN SPIDERS!!! Their damn webs are a pain in the ass

It took me 5 years to get inferno !! ok not 5 years but it felt like
it

I played on normal in the demo and got a pure platinum and a gold
statue at different times, although I didn't know what the hell they
meant at the time, there's so much going on the screen , but its a
very fun game.

Then I tried again and I could only get a bronze ,,beginners luck I
guess

Yeah, Ninja Gaiden 2 on the "normal" difficulty setting is
ridiculous. I picked up Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and it's hard not to
notice how toned down the WoW difficulty is, compared to the original
NG2. That's the only reason I've kept the Xbox Ninja Gaiden 2 (I'm a
sucker for a challenge), as Sigma 2 does look better, has some extra
content, the mission mode, and the camera is DEFINITELY better. I
think some of NG2's difficulty was due to the camera simply spazzing
out and not behaving.

But that's just me; I'm a Ninja Gaiden fanboy, I guess (still dislike
Itigaki in general, though).

Just rented Bayonetta although I should've purchased it .

Found a couple things

Free items
When Bayonetta is sucking a lollipop in a cutscene, take note of its
color. Hold the controller button that matches the color of the
lollypop to get an item. For example, if the lollypop was green, hold
A during the cutscene to get a green herb lollipop.

And some cheats but I'm not using them until I exaust the game

Cheat mode
In Chapter 2, Verse 3 or later, stand in front of the specified
telephone in the plaza from Verse 3 while not in a fight, and enter
one of the following codes to activate the corresponding cheat
function. The "Weapons" phone is the left phone by the stairs. The
"Accessories" phone is on the right. The "Characters" phone is the
stand alone phone on the other end of the plaza. Note: A certain
number of Halos are required to activate the codes.

Bracelet Of Time
Stand in front of the "Accessories" phone, then press Up(4), Down(4),
Left, Right, Left, Right, LT. This code requires 3 million Halos to
activate.

Climax Bracelet
Stand in front of the "Accessories" phone, then press Up(4), Down(4),
Left, Right, Left, Right, RT. This code requires 5 million Halos to
activate.

Eternal Testimony
Stand in front of the "Accessories" phone, then press Up(4), Down(4),
Left, Right, Left, Right, RB. This code requires 2 million Halos to
activate.

Jeanne
Stand in front of the "Characters" phone, then press Up(4), Down(4),
Left, Right, Left, Right, B. This code requires 1 million Halos to
activate.

Little Zero
Stand in front of the "Characters" phone, then press Up(4), Down(4),
Left, Right, Left, Right, X. This code requires 5 million Halos to
activate.

Bazillions
Stand in front of the "Weapon" phone, then press Up(4), Down(4), Left,
Right, Left, Right, Y. This code requires 1 million Halos to activate.

Pillow Talk
Stand in front of the "Weapon" phone, then press Up(4), Down(4), Left,
Right, Left, Right, A. This code requires 1 million Halos to activate.

Rodin
Stand in front of the "Weapon" phone, then press Up(4), Down(4), Left,
Right, Left, Right, LB. This code requires 5 million Halos to
activate.
