Wow. I really don't want to go all schadenfreude here, because, let's
face it, unemployment, as many of us know, is a bitch, and can happen
to anybody. But when the article says "And despite seemingly being
tailor-made for the adult industry, Falcon says that he doesn't do
porn because if he did, 'Nobody would take me seriously. Nobody.'", I
can't help but question.......who is taking him seriously now? Not
the video game industry, with his 40-year-old fanboy schtick and poor
grasp of the facts. I say he should swallow his pride, and just do
some porn films. He'll get some nice cash, it might actually give him
some _real_ self esteem (it's obvious his ego centers from a massive
defense mechanism), and he might be able to pick up some social skills
by re-entering "real life" society for a change (and regain some much-
needed perspective and self-evaluation).

I personally find it appalling that people make these post or comments,
despite Jonah showing brand name favoritism and not poor quality gaming
journalism skills. Posting articles about his personal life (though the
article is public and obviously blogged) then ripping on him about said
article ad hominem, says more about those people than it does about Jonah.
No one knows how he lives his life and to say he should do porn as some kind
of life crisis panacea isn't a very good idea. Getting on his case for his
blatant brand bias is another thing though, he brings that upon himself.

I tend to agree... There's no fit reason to slag on someone for being
unemployed when our country is facing an unemployment crisis.
Believe me, I'd love to sit around pumping up the old GamerScore, but
if I didn't have health insurance I'd be screwed right now.

That's life mate. Behave like a twat on Usenet and piss a lot of people
off by trolling (at his own admission) and spamming. Then whore
yourself out(he will have been paid) for a "news" article. Net result,
you get to piss taken out of you. Karma.
Don't get me wrong I can see where you're coming from. I just don't
think he's worthy of the sympathy. If he showed an iota of regard for
other people in newsgroups or was slightly less of a narcissistsical,
sociopathic troll then I might agree.
On I side note are we sure there wasn't some miscommunication.
Erroneous memo: Jonah Falcon has the worlds biggest cock.
Original memo: Jonah Falcon *is* the worlds biggest cock.

I think Jonah comes across as an ass, but the hatred people in here give him
nonstop
is idiotic. If they hate him or what he has to say just ignore him.

Isn't non-stop hatred basically the default mode of expression in
this group?
(well it's cross-posted, but I'd guess both groups are roughly
equivalent in that sense...)

I'd only agree with you had Jonah been the one to make the issue of
himself, but this thread is not the case.

Yep, and after reading my comment, I should make an edit that says, "despite
Jonah showing brand name favoritism and poor quality gaming journalism
skills." (removed "not").

He let them make a "news" report about it, if that's not making an issue
out of it I don't know what is. :-)

I have no interest in making fun of his unemployment because karma's a
bitch but I have no problem making fun of that quote about nobody
taking him seriously if he did porn...

Good point... they could have written about anyone with regards to
unemployment but they're doing an article that specifically calls out
that he's the dude with the officially largest penis in the world.

the Republicans is, doesn't it?"

Not to mention the fact that this economys seeds were sewn by "W". I really
am surprised though we just finnished a decade with ZERO net job gains. I
mean "W" got all the wars AND tax cuts he wanted and yet here we are. Wierd.

I didn't post the link to demean Jonah. Jonah is a prolific poster to this
group. He is also a senior editor at Game Stooge -
http://www.gamestooge.com/ . So the post definitely tied into this NG. In
fact my post ironically mimicked a typical JF post - a subject with a link
and nothing more. Being an unemployed man right now is nothing special
that's for sure. 1 in 5 currently are. Having the worlds biggest dong? Lucky
bastard. I have been posting/lurking/reading here for over eight years.
Jonah along with a few others are well known on this group because of their
activity here. If I had come across an article about some other regular here
I would have posted it as well. There is a video interview with Jonah as
well. He participated willingly. It's not some kind of hit piece. So
everyone just simmer down a bit.

Granted, unemployment is no laughing matter, and it was unduly harsh
of me to jump on that bandwagon. But I actually don't think he should
be counting out doing something that he can certainly make some good
cash on, that he's already done in the past. There's a ton of people
without jobs who I'm sure would love to have the opportunities nature
gave him; for him to say, "I won't do it because people won't take me
seriously" seems rather silly given the state of the economy, and even
more silly considering how he has boasted about his "endowment" here
in the past with pride. So obviously he's not truly "ashamed" of
doing porn, unless he's pulled a total reversal. Anyway, I do think
laughing at his situation as an unemployed person _in general_ is
uncalled for, but he really does come off a tiny bit delusional in the
context of his other behavior here.

Are you STILL trying to pin this one on Obama, when it was Bush's
"kill the regulators" approach that allowed this bubble to happen?
Please don't try to spin that old trope anymore.

Men in porn do not make a lot of money, unless they are willing to do
gay porn.

Not to mention his Stern appearances. Gotta say his meeting with
Takei had me crying with laughter.
